Christie Collbran | Secretary

Christie grew up in Scientology and worked as a member of the Sea Org for nearly 14 years. Since leaving she has appeared in the news and TV shows exposing the abuses of Scientology. She is a professional doula and owner of a thriving doula agency in Tampa Bay. Christie successfully served for six years as the President of the Tampa Bay Birth Network, a non-profit 501c3 organization, turning it into a valuable resource for the community. Christie lives in Palm Harbor, Florida with her husband Mike and her two sons.
Ray Jeffrey | Board Member

Mr. Jeffrey is an experienced trial lawyer. He has earned the coveted AV-rating from Martindale-Hubbell. AV is the highest rating for legal excellence and ethics. He achieved double board certification in 1989, and has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer, and as a Best Lawyer in San Antonio. Mr. Jeffrey has served in significant elected and appointed positions in his community.
Mark Pesch | Board Member

Mark “Mat” Pesch was in the Sea Organization for 27 years, from their international headquarters in Hemet, California to the Flag Land Base in Clearwater, holding many executive posts in both locations. He left in 2005, married Amy Scobee and they now live in Florida. Mat has been integral to the exposure of Scientology abuses since 2007, both to law enforcement and in all forms of media.
Helen Zbitnoff | Board Member

Helen Zbitnoff is a never-in. For 21 years, she has been married to a 2nd gen Scientologist who left Scientology when he was 18 years old. Helen has spent her life volunteering on boards focused on education, and helping people. She has a varied background that will help us move the foundation forward in our mission to help people escape this cult.
Claire Headley | President

Claire Headley was born and raised in Scientology and spent 30 years in the organization. She served as a high-ranking executive at the church’s International base before escaping shortly after her husband, Marc. In 2023, Claire testified as an Expert Witness on Scientology in the Danny Masterson trial.

Designing and installing educational interactives across the US for past presidents and musical icons is Marc’s day job. Since 2005, Marc has worked tirelessly to expose the inner workings and abuse that occurred at the Scientology headquarters he worked at for 15 years. Marc has appeared on documentaries and TV shows profiling Scientology and their abuses in many countries. Marc has also traveled to Europe to educate government officials and law enforcement on how Scientology avoids prosecution for their activities. Marc lives in Colorado with his wife & three sons.
Amy Scobee | Board Member

Amy escaped Scientology in March 2005, after nearly 3 decades of full-time service, mostly at their international management headquarters in Hemet, CA. Since 2007, she has dedicated herself to exposing Scientology's abusive policies and practices to hopefully bring about a change. Amy now lives in Florida with her husband, Mark Pesch. Amy is a certified Life Celebrant.
Michele Adair | Board Member

Michele Adair, Navy Chief Ret. served in the United States Navy for 23 years and is a 100% Service Connected Disabled Veteran and a Veteran of Foreign Wars. She was born in Fresno California and enlisted in the Navy in 1997. After basic training and hydraulics A school she reported to her first duty station, the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk (CV 63) as an Aviation Boatswain Mate Equipment (ABE) where she earned her Air Warfare, promoted several times and became the first woman in the Navy to run the flight deck Arresting Gear division (the first female Topside P.O., USN).
She trained as a Military Police Officer, was selected to be a Field Training Officer, and did one tour in the Middle East beginning the day before 9-11 happened in 2001 and subsequently served as a Watch Commander. She then reported to the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) where she earned her Surface Warfare and was promoted to Chief.
In 2009 the Navy sent Chief Adair to NDAC (Navy’s Drug and Alcohol Counseling School) to become a Drug & Alcohol Counselor and in her last 11 years in the Navy she served as a counselor for Navy and Marines and also trained as a sexual assault advocate and further trained to handle combat PTSD and sexual trauma.
She was the leading Chief Petty Officer over the Mental Health Treatment facility at Marine Base Camp Pendleton, during which time she also gave birth to her daughter Isabella, her greatest achievement. She was the Directorate for Mental Health Senior Enlisted Leader, running the Mental Health department at Naval Medical Center San Diego. After successfully counseling hundreds of Navy and Marine personnel through rehab programs, Chief Adair retired from Naval Station Point Loma Residential Treatment Facility in 2020 to begin a new career.
In addition to dozens of awards from the Navy and yearly hours logged as a volunteer and community volunteer leader within San Diego, in 2021 Chief Adair was inducted into the LGBTQ Veterans Wall Of Honor for her work protecting the community within the Navy and for the reason that she had been approved by President Obama to be in charge of her Command to roll out the repeal program ending Don’t Ask Don’t Tell from the Navy, thereby fighting discrimination.
Chief Adair has now earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business and is currently attending film school in pursuit of a degree in Digital Film. She got married in 2022 to the love of her life, Rachael Hastings Adair, and they co-founded One Match Fire, LLC, a production company and Girls With Gear, a women-based film equipment co-op and education initiative. She volunteers regularly with numerous non-profits and in 2021 became a Foster Resource Parent and has fostered six children so far and reunited multiple families through this process.
